The magic of black flowers has attracted our attention for centuries becoming a source of artistic and philosophical inspiration. Their improbable and “unnatural” colour inspires a powerful feeling of mystical expectation. In fact, no pure black flowers exist in nature. The so-called black tulip is actually very dark purple and the black rose is very dark red.
Black flowers were beloved of Art Nouveau designers at the previous turn of the century. The black rose, in particular, is often featured in fiction with many different meanings such as the "black magic", "black beauty". It is also a used symbol of the anarchist movement. In according of the language of flowers, a black flower means death, hatred, farewell and revenge. But, because a black flower is virtually impossible to procure, it means also PURE LOVE! My Black Flower Collection is not inspired to a particular flower, but to the mystical power and to the infinite symbolic means of the all black flowers. And one only thing is sure. I built it with LOVE!
